The wrong framing
"Should I go broad?" is not a strategy question. It is a readiness question. Broad targeting and Advantage+ shopping campaigns need a minimum signal volume before the algorithm outperforms a human media buyer. Ship them too early and you burn budget training a model on noise.
The three go-broad signals
- Pixel firing 50+ purchase events per week per ad account, clean, no duplicates, verified in CAPI + browser.
- Product catalog with at least 20 SKUs and image quality above 1080px square. Advantage+ leans hard on catalog.
- Creative library with 8+ distinct concepts in the last 60 days. Broad needs variety to find pockets.
The two wait signals
- New pixel or fresh domain migration under 60 days old. Signal history matters more than volume.
- Seasonal business with a spike-and-crash pattern. Advantage+ over- corrects on the crash and takes weeks to recover.
What to do next
- Book a growth audit: I run the readiness check on your pixel, catalog, and creative library and tell you the exact week to switch.
- Try the free Performance Leak Auditor to catch the pixel gaps that block broad from working.
- Reply with your last 7 days of purchase events and I will tell you if you are ready.
